Sometimes you wonder if anyone reads what you put online at all :-)  I appreciate how hard it can be to see things from the other side of the coin and I greatly appreciate your article.  From my standpoint, I completely understand why we&#039;re to be loyal to companies, and I&#039;ve worked at 2 companies, each one for 5 years (which in IT is a very long time).  I understand that you can&#039;t just leave others hanging and that to do the right thing means that if you must leave, then you must leave on the best terms possible.  You must make sure that the PEOPLE at the company you care about are taken care of.  I prefer the term &#039;company&#039; be used to refer to people, not the business (ie. my company of friends, my company of coworkers).</description>
